All-inclusive Retreat
Located on the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica, Playa Chiquita vibrates with a special energy!
It is the perfect backdrop for the powerful spirit of Reiki we will be immersed in during this Reiki Adventure Retreat.
Tierra de Sueños is our host. An eco-lodge located steps away from a private beach nestled in the Costa Rican jungle.
Expect to be awakened by Howler monkeys as the sun rises. Sloths, monkeys, and toucans abound in this beautiful space and may visit as we practice yoga, Reiki, and meditation in our jungle shala.
You will feel as if you’ve walked into the pages of National Geographic!
Vacationing in Costa Rica
We will be vacationing in a remote Caribbean coastal town in an eco-lodge. Full jungle immersion means that we will connect with the natural world around us and enjoy the bounty of fruits and vegetables offered by the surrounding rainforest.
Morning Yoga Practice – designed with you in mind – Gentle or Energizing depending on your needs that day
Breakfast – healthy meals from locally sourced abundant Caribbean food.
Adventure Activity – Could be a visit to the local animal rescue center to interact with monkeys and sloths, a hike in the jungle to a waterfall, kayaking, or horseback riding on the beach.
Lunch
Free Time – blissful, so needed. Go walk along the ocean, explore the town, or enjoy the sights and sounds of Costa Rica in silence.
Dinner
Evening Activity – Reiki Circle, Guided Meditation, Theta Healing, JourneyDance. We’ll take the pulse of the group in deciding which activity to offer which night.

Tierra de Sueños is about 4-5 hours from the airport in San Jose. We will all arrive by noon in San Jose to meet up and share a passenger van down to Playa Chiquita.
If you prefer to fly, you may arrange a flight from San Jose to Limon using Sansa Air http://crc.flysansa.com/en/home. These national flights are around $80. You can then take a shuttle or taxi from Limon to Playa Chiquita, about an hour drive, for around $20-$25.
Make sure your flights arrive by 12 pm or earlier at SJO airport which will allow you to arrive at Tierra de Sueños by dinner. Our retreat begins at dinner time on February 12th. Check-in time is 2pm.
We recommend a yoga mat, light shawl, scarf, or sweater, and a throw blanket for sitting on or draping over yourself. There are yoga mats and yoga blocks on site.
Ear plugs (howler monkeys awaken early!!), Rain Gear (just in case!), Sneakers for hiking and flip-flops for lounging, a light coat or sweater for evenings, a flashlight, and of course, your bathing suit!!
The local temperature averages 80-85 degrees year-round. We will not be traveling during rainy season, although light showers may occur in the afternoons.
You can help Tierra de Sueños maintain a small ecological footprint by following a few basic practices over your stay such as discarding toilet paper in provided waste baskets, and conserving water when possible with showers.
Tierra de Sueños practices composting, recycling, and uses limited chemical cleaning agents.
WIFI in the jungle is unreliable. You will have access to WIFI in the main lodge and eating area. It does not extend to the Casitas and Bungalows.
No vaccinations are required. A fully equipped emergency facility and clinic is located 10 minutes away in Puerto Viejo. Also, it is advised that you speak with your doctor about any vaccinations or considerations that they may suggest about traveling in Costa Rica. Medical travel insurance is always advised.
The local currency is Colones however U.S. Dollars can be used in Costa Rica to pay for most things. In Puerto Viejo, there are a couple of banks and a few ATM machines. Most small businesses only accept cash so it’s wise to have some with you.
A tourist tax must be paid before passing customs. A rate of $28.00 can be paid directly at the airport at time of your arrival or may have been included in your ticket price – check with your airline.
